Project

Making Art, Making Media, Making Change!

The goal of Making Art, Making Media, Making Change! is to introduce young people – especially girls and young women – to contemporary alternative media and cultural productions with feminist and anti-racist perspectives. Young people are encouraged to become active themselves in cultural and media production and to see themselves as part of this participatory culture.

We provide a toolbox to support the mediation work and a reading lounge for borrowing, which can be used, for example, for the participants’ own workshops, supplemental training programs or exhibitions. Workshops can also be organized. Further information and contact opportunities can be found in the info folder.

This science communication project was funded from 1 March 2014 to 30 September 2015 by the Austrian Science Fund FWF. During this time, a workshop program as well as a Grrrls! Camp was designed and carried out, plus the toolbox and a traveling archive/reading lounge were developed, in conjunction with further training offerings for multipliers.

This website serves to document all of the parts of the project and all of the activities during the project period. A more detailed overview of the project can be found in the documents download.
