Do-It-Yourself, Do-it-Together!
Künstlerisch-edukative Materialien und Angebote für eine kritische Vermittlungspraxis
Welche Praktiken werden in Alltag und Medien verwendet, um Männlichkeit oder Weiblichkeit herzustellen? Warum besteht die Notwendigkeit, alternative Medien selbst zu produzieren? Wie kann eine Praxis des Selbermachens zum Ausdruck von Kritik werden? Inwiefern kann das, was von der Gesellschaft als ‚normal' und ‚schön' angesehen wird, hinterfragt und umgedeutet werden – welche anderen und neuen Bilder können dem entgegengesetzt werden? Und produzieren diese Bilder ihrerseits wiederum Normen? Solche und ähnliche Fragen stehen im Zentrum der Toolbox „Do-It-Yourself, Do-it-Together!".
Die Toolbox umfasst Module für drei Workshops (Comics, Craftivism und Zines). Diese sind mit Primärmaterialien, Handlungsanregungen sowie pädagogische Materialien zur eigenständigen Umsetzung aufbereitet. Das begleitende Handbuch bietet Hintergrundinformationen zur Entstehungsgeschichte und den Anwendungsbereichen von Comics, Zines und Craftivism.
Die Toolbox richtet sich an Lehrer_innen und Multiplikator_innen in der Jugend- und Mädchenarbeit, die eigene Projekte und Workshops im Bereich der feministischen Medien- und Kulturproduktion mit Jugendlichen entwickeln und umsetzen wollen. Dazu bereitet die Toolbox queer-feministische Medien und Kulturproduktionen künstlerisch-edukativ auf und zeigt deren Einsatzmöglichkeiten im Schulunterricht, aber auch in der freien Mädchen- und Jugendarbeit. Die gesamte Toolbox oder auch einzelne Module können entlehnt werden, ebenso bieten wir (auf Anfrage) Weiterbildungsangebote (Train-the-Trainer-Workshops) und Einführungen in das Arbeiten mit den Materialien an.
Insgesamt wurden drei Making Art, Making Media, Making Change! Toolbox Taschen produziert und sie beinhalten:
- Handbuch – Überblick über den Kontext
- Handlungsanregungen für die Workshop – Informationen zu Zine-, Comic-, Crafting-Workshops; Leitfäden für das Arbeiten mit den Primärmaterialien für Comics, Zines, Craftivism-Projekte, für das Arbeiten mit Bildkarten und für die Sprechblasen mit Zitaten
- Anschauungsmaterial – Zines, Comics, Crafting-Projekte
- Bildkarten – Beispiele künstlerischer und medialer Arbeiten
- Sprechblasen – Zitate von Kulturproduzent_innen (auf Deutsch und Englisch)
- How-To-Guide – Anleitungen aus dem Do-it-Yourself-Kontext zur weiteren Nutzung
- Material-Kit – Basis-Werkzeuge (wie Schere, Klebstoff, Stift)
- Liste Ressourcen
Auch nach Ende der Projektlaufzeit steht die Toolbox Interessierten zur eigenen Nutzung zur Verfügung und kann entlehnt werden (Kontakt).
Do-It-Yourself, Do-It-Together!
Artistic and educational materials and formats for a critical mediation practice
What practices are used in everyday life and media to construct masculinity or femininity? Why is there a need to produce alternative media yourself? How can a self-made practice become an expression of criticism? To what extent can the things that
are regarded by society as “normal” and “beautiful” be questioned and reinterpreted – and what other, new images can be counterposed? And do these images, in turn, produce their own norms? These and other similar questions are at the center of the “Do-It-Yourself, Do-It-Together!” Toolbox.
The Toolbox includes modules for three workshops (comics, craftivism and zines). These are prepared with primary materials, action prompts and pedagogical materials for independent implementation. The accompanying handbook provides background
information on the historical development and scope of comics, zines and craftivism.
The Toolbox is aimed at teachers and multipliers working with youth and girls who want to develop and implement their own projects and workshops with young people in the field of feminist media and cultural production. To this end, the Toolbox prepares queer-feminist media and cultural productions artistically and
educationally and shows their possible uses in school lessons, but also in the independent work of girls and young people. The entire Toolbox or individual modules can be borrowed; we also offer (on request) additional training opportunities (Train-the-Trainer Workshops) and introductions to working with the materials.
In total, three Making Art, Making Media, Making Change! Toolbox pouches were produced; these include:
- Handbook – overview of the context
- Action guides for the workshop – information on zine, comic, crafting workshops; guides for working with the primary materials for comics, zines, craftivism projects; for working with picture cards and for the speech balloons with quotes
- Illustrative material – zines, comics, crafting projects
- Picture cards – examples of artistic and media work
- Speech balloons – quotes from cultural producers (in German and English)
- How-to guide – Do-It-Yourself instructions for further use
- Material kit – basic tools (such as scissors, glue, pencil)
- List of resources
Even after the end of the project period, the Toolbox is available to interested parties for their own use and can be borrowed (contact).
