Univ. Prof. Dr. Martin Weichbold

Martin Weichbold is Associate Professor of Sociology with a specialization in empirical social research. Following his studies in Sociology and Political Science, he graduated with a doctorate in Sociology. He received his professorship with the development of a methodology for touch screen survey research, for which he also received the Theodor-Körner-Prize. Along with numerous publications on methodological questions Prof. Weichbold has also worked on issues of the sociology of the environment, tourism, and the ars.

Martin Weichbold headed the Division of Political Science and Sociology and the Department of Sociology from 2007 to 2011. From 2011-2015 he served as Deputy Dean, from 2015-2019 he was Dean of the Faculty of Cultural and Social Sciences.

Since 1 October 2019 Martin Weichbold dedicates himself as the Vice Rectorate of “Academic Affairs”.

Untill December 2019 he was also President of the Austrian Society of Sociology.
