Co-CreArT. Co-Creating Change! Transdisciplinary Lab for Transformation

The inter- and transdisciplinary CreArT Lab is being developed together with children and young people in collaboration with partners from the fields of art & culture, science & technology, education & mediation and in cooperation with regional companies and networks. – A mobile experimental space designed to inspire, motivate and support children and young people to (co-)create change in line with the guiding principle of “Co-Creating Change!”.

The project “Co-CreArT. Co-Creating Change!” project is based on the conviction that the interaction of art, science and technology is essential for the development of forward-looking and sustainable ideas and solutions in order to meet the challenges of the 21st century, such as the climate crisis, in all its complexity. In addition to technical and scientific skills, a creative capacity and the ability to think and act ‘out of the box’ are also required. Artistic approaches, in particular artistic-experimental design and the involvement of actors from a wide variety of fields, play an essential role in this context insofar as they open up new perspectives and possibilities for action.

This is where “Co-CreArT” comes in and provides the framework for the co-creative development, implementation and testing of an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary learning space in the form of a mobile laboratory. The so-called CreArT-Lab will include various experimental and educational formats for the development of forward-looking practices and creative solutions in the innovative field of climate protection. It will be set up together with children and young people, partners from art and culture, science and technology, education and mediation as well as in cooperation with companies and networks. Children and young people are also the primary user group.

The focus is on the topics of sustainable building and housing as well as climate-friendly mobility, which are highly relevant and urgent both globally and regionally for the transformation towards climate neutrality. The thematic discussions include ecological, technological, economic and socio-cultural perspectives. The continuous interweaving of artistic-creative and scientific-technical approaches, transdisciplinary settings and the continuous inclusion of the ideas and needs of children and young people form the pivotal points of the project.
