Climate and society (of Salzburg) in transition. Focus on perspectives and risks

At this event, Peter Waltl from the Department for Climate Protection, Sustainability and Waste Management of the Province of Salzburg will speak about current developments in climate change in Salzburg. Based on this, on the one hand the steps on the way to a climate-neutral, energy-autonomous and sustainable future will be highlighted and (political) possibilities for action and obstacles will be discussed, and on the other hand the different effects of climate change on various ecological, social and economic areas will be explained as well as the need to adapt to these consequences.

Stefan Wally from the Robert Jungk Library for Future Issues provides insights into the project “Salzburg Tomorrow”. In this, the most important developments up to 2040 were traced. However, these were not left side by side, but were put in relation to each other. In the process, various scenarios emerged in which direction Salzburg could go by 2040. Each of these futures means a different background for our areas of life – such as art and culture.
