What would a music sound like that would assign the human a place amongst its fellow species, a music, that would articulate and emphasize our social and environmental entangledness rather than lift us up and out of it all? What would a music sound like that reflected our own ordinariness as just one figure amongst many others? Such a music wouldn’t have to include so called environmental sounds or turn to what has been called the non-human. Rather, it would give us a sense of our own ordinariness as humans. We have made an attempt at such a music. This lecture performance will feature an original composition by Leo Feichtinger and Manfred Soraruf embedded in some considerations and provocations.
