Regional cultural development: field trials beyond urban centres

Cultural work in rural areas is closely linked to the idea of regional cultural development. Artistic and cultural activities and programmes are intended to strengthen the sense of community, improve the infrastructure and increase the quality of life of residents and make life in the regions attractive and ensure that they have a say. Key aspects and particular challenges lie in broad cooperation and networking, securing funding, addressing and involving the local population and overcoming mobility-related barriers.
Andrea Folie has been active in the field of regional cultural work and development for many years. In the guest talk, she will provide practical insights into the projects she has designed for rural areas and realised in various constellations.
