Collaborative Gestures in Contemporary Ballet: On inviting, negotiating, and choreographing relations

In the field of contemporary ballet, how are collaboration, shared responsibility, and the choreographing of relationships enacted through gestures of invitation? Building on an artist talk with choreographer and performer Alessandra Corti, the lecture explores collaboration, negotiation, and power dynamics within choreographic processes – particularly at the intersection of authorship, care, and institutional production mechanisms.
Following this, concrete choreographic tools and strategies for collaborative work are presented and explored together.

The event is part of the public lecture series Un/Inviting Gestures: Politics of Welcoming and Withholding in Art and Culture.
