Review: Social Streets. A Happening

As part of an open, creative event, Swiss artist Anna Reinhold (MOBILE. Das Open-Air Parlament and Café des Visions), together with students from the Interuniversity Organization Arts & Knowledges (course leader: Elke Zobl), invited participants to collaboratively develop ideas, wishes and visions for a liveable city. To this end, the forecourt of the Mozarteum University was transformed into a place for lingering, meeting and exchanging ideas. Questions were posed on various materials, such as: “What would you like to see in Salzburg’s streets and squares?”, “What would make them so unique that you would enjoy spending time there?”, “How can the transformation succeed?”

Anyone interested could leave their ideas, dreams, suggestions or further questions on a large screen. School classes, students, chance passers-by and visitors who came specifically for the event filled the screen, producing a rich array of contributions which Anna Reinhold immediately transformed into a map. This will be incorporated into the Co-CreART project’s mobile lab and will be continuously developed. The results of the mapping will be submitted to the City of Salzburg as part of the Mobilitäteszukunft 2040 ideas competition in Salzburg.

The event is part of the project Co-CreART. Co-Creating Change!.
